Looking for feedback - Live Witch House, also on a DS.
Hi, I've been lurking around here for a while and sort of dabbling with the Witch House sound. I would really appreciate some views on some of my tunes. I get so caught up in them that I can't tell if they are shit or not. They are all a bit rough, using Ableton bores the hell out of me so I prefer ...

Re: musical theory for dummies.
I found it pretty useful, something that I've dipped in and out of. I'm sure if I spent a bit more time reading it my stuff would be better, but like anything, I enjoy the process more than the theory.

Re: recording mediums
I got hold of a reel to reel a few weeks ago, have been thinking of using that for recording, or even better, tape loops, but have got a fair bit of kit I still don't use to its full potential so this is under the desk for the time being.
Anyone had any experience of making tape loops?

What's your starting point? Indie and lo fi pretty much sums up a vast majority of my music collections.

The review for this album in todays Metro (a free paper placed on buses in major UK cities, and Wolverhampton) also used the Witch House tag. They must have read this review.
If the Metro ever did review any Witch House, I'd eat my cat.

What draws me to Witch House?
Triangles.
Seriously though, I liked the idea of artists releasing music with names that will make it difficult to find, gives it a purity of artistic vision in my eyes.

ketamine is the drug for witch house; the exact feeling of the music Never listened to WH on Ket, but can understand how the two would go well. First time I did K was at a friends in London, I had to leave soon after to catch the train home. I'd not long seen the film 'Creep' , walking through tube...

Re: Balam Acab - Wander/Wonder (2011)
'Big Boy', and for that matter, the rest of the rest of the See Birds EP gave me high expectations of this. Sadly, I find the vocals just grate on me to a point that I can't really see past them. Going to perservere though, all my favourite albums didn't show me their full majesty on the first two l...

FUCK ITS THE WITCH HOUSE POLICE !!!! Reading this last night, I'm sure led me to dream that I was outside a Witch House club, I'd been inside and it was really good, but I was taking a breather outside, which seemed to be the festival I was at last weekend. This guy who I see most days on my way to...

Re: Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?
In my mid teens I really got into the grebo scene, Gaye Bykers on Acid, Pop Will Eat Itself etc, while my elder brother got me into the goth scene Sisters, Nephilim etc, Into the nineties I was a real indie kid, by 95 heavily into shoegaze, particularly Flying Saucer Attack and My Bloody Valentine, ...

what did u use? lsdj, nanoloop? LSDJ on the DMG. Anything I could get my hands on for the DS, Korg DS10 and Cells were particular favourites. Haven't really used them that much recently though, keep meaning to do some better mixes of the tracks I've done through my Kaoss pad and record them. What d...
