Such an amazing single. "Roses" was my introduction to White Ring's music, and I was literally blown away with their sound and screamy, distorted vocals. Can't wait for some more material soon-to-be-released on Disaro. Side A is backed with oOoOO's tribute to the 80's sound entitled "Seaww". Beautifully released, buy it before it sells out!
Awesome debut split single from Drag-star oOoOO and the enigmatic White Ring. oOoOO's 'Seaww' is warbling '80s R'n'B screwed out of context and spun into 2010 with gender bent vocals reminding of Fever Ray and slow hulking beats somewhere between Ultravox and Salem-style slowfast 808s. White Ring has a more modern ghettogothic lean, dazed with megapop trance riffs and holding itself together with emaciated 808s. Frankly, both tracks are killer. TIP!
