Any reason this list doesnt continue through the 00s?

I have a couple of anime to add.

Witch Hunter Robin
xxxholic
kikis delivery service
tsubasa reservoir chronicle
Soul Eater
Sally the Witch (way old school)
Tweeny Witches
No Umineko love, seriously? Well the anime kind of sucked a bit but it's still worth watching if you refuse to read the VN or Manga. The witches in that are more of the fairytale sorceress, trickster kind of variety.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica had "witches" too, not really of the traditional kind but I think people here would appreciate it since it's dark and trippy.

I wish there were more good witch movies. A lot of them tend to have witches more as monsters or something. I'd like to see a good witch horror along the lines of Umineko, or something where witches are actually the heroes(like Tweeny Witches).

Mullholland drive
Inland Empire
Blue Velvet

Don't specifically contain witches, but everything Lynch is relevant to the scene if you ask me.

Totally. Also: Eraserhead. And a couple of his short films too, "Rabbits" and "The Grandmother".

I was gonna put that forward but I always get slagged off for suggesting it as it's "too weird" or "boring"...the fuck? I love that film. And you wrap your head around the concept it's even scarier. I'm surprised I haven't seen clips from it used in any WH videos to be honest.

You can watch it here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 1449473825

I know I'm very VERY late to this but... Honestly no Jodorowsky?

At the risk of sounding preachy I'd dare say The Holy Mountain is required viewing.

Also, not totally related:

Gummo (1997) - Artistic trash of the best kind.

Satantango (1994) - Atmospheric as hell, with some great musical interludes, also 7 1/2 hours long.

Aguirre, The Wrath Of God (1972) - Werner Herzog's odd, surrealistic masterpiece.

Stalker (1979) and Nostalghia (1983) - Both by Andrei Tarkovsky, cover metaphysical and existential themes, amazing atmosphere.

La maschera del demonio (Black Sunday) 1960

I lunghi capelli della morte (The long hair of death) 1963

I tre volti della paura (Black Sabbath) 1963. 3 stories. The story "A drop of water" was pretty creepy but I'm not sure if the elderly woman would be considered a "Witch" or a "Medium". Great film though.

Valerie a týden divu (Valerie and her week of wonders) 1970 Not directly about witches, but I think it belongs here :)

I've already got THE CRAFT (1996), THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (1999), KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE (1989), HALLOWEENTOWN (1998), HOCUS POCUS (1993), THE VVITCH (2015) , BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS (1971) and THE COVENANT (2006) on the list. What are some other good ones?
Bonus points for movies similar in tone and themes to THE CRAFT or for foreign films about witches.

I don't think any of these have been mentioned yet:

The Devils - not so much witches but inquisition and blasphemous themes.
A Field In England - great occult film from Ben Wheatley.
The Wicker Man - The Original, not the remake.
Lords of Salem - Not many people like this one, but I enjoyed it for what it was.
The Witches - The Hammer Horror Classic
She - the 1965 classic
Black Sunday - Barbara Steele classic
The Devil Rides Out - Another classic Hammer film
Eve's Bayou - Often overlooked bit of Voodoo
The Crucible - 1996 retelling of the Salem witch trials
Sleepy Hollow - A witch summoning the headless horseman
