A couple of days ago I posted an ad on Craigslist (Seattle) in hopes of trying to start a Witch House project.

Here it is:

Witch House?
Does Seattle have any Witch House projects that I'm not aware of?
If so tell me about them.
I'd love to start one of my own as well.

I asked about other projects because I'm an audio engineering student and would like to record a Witch House project as well as start my own to hone my production skills a bit more.

Here is the response I got:

uh. I "bandcamped" it. They do have "witch house", in the descriptor. Just sounds like awful electropop to me. Lady cannot even sing in time with the music. Stuff is horrendous.

They are from Spokane, which is about a 4 and half hours away.
I've known about them and where they are from, I was trying to find a fledgling act to hone my production skills on in the studio.

I wouldn't overthink things like this. There are way more people who don't quite know what witch house is
than do know what it is, and exponentially more people who have no clue what it is.

Even when you do know what it is, there's quite a bit of purposeful obfuscation.

My suggestion is to send them a succinct followup with a clear example. Or just ignore it.

this is scobra from Dionvox. The person that started this thread is a true jackass who actually wanted to join our band but got all hurt when I didnt answer an email promptly enough. I know who this person is and his music sucks and he has the personality of a rat = destined for the musical wilderness. But yeah i have no idea what Witch House is other than a comparison has been made by others.
As for the critique - i always appreciate critique but i especially like it from people who are clearly better than I am -= unfortunately that is not the case here.
